Who handles your data
The dateandlearn.com team handles account data and support requests. Contact us through the internal support form or at support@dateandlearn.com.
Open section →Information the site stores
Account information includes your email address, username, password hash, birth date and profile fields you provide. The site also stores messages, reactions, corrections, posts, comments, photos, trips, friendships, bookmarks, blocks, complaints and settings. Sessions contain technical information such as IP address, browser details and activity times. Support stores the request, replies and, for members, the account identifier; guest access codes are stored as hashes.
Why the data is used
Data enables sign-in, profiles, member search, conversations, social features and saved preferences. Session records and request limits help protect accounts and reduce abuse. Reports and support requests allow the team to investigate problems and respond. Optional profile details are used in the features where you choose to provide them.
Grounds for processing
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, data needed to provide your account and requested features is processed to perform the service agreement. Account security, abuse prevention and support are pursued as legitimate interests, subject to your rights. Processing required by law relies on the relevant legal obligation. If a feature requires consent, it must ask separately and provide a way to withdraw it.
Who can see information
Profile information, posts, albums and travel plans are shown according to the relevant feature and privacy settings. Messages are available to their participants. Support requests are available to the requesting member or a guest holding the private code, and authorised staff. Staff with authorised operational access may access stored data for support, moderation or maintenance. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Cookies and browser storage
The session cookie keeps you signed in and supports form security. A language cookie remembers the selected language for up to one year; the theme preference is kept in browser storage. Clearing cookies can sign you out and removes guest support access from that browser session. A guest can restore access using the saved code.
External requests
Some existing pages load fonts, flag images or other resources from external hosts, which receive connection information such as your IP address. Session location lookup may also send an IP address to a location provider. Contact Us itself does not send requests or replies by email. Google sign-in, email delivery and external push notifications are not part of this local support workflow. Contact us if you need details of the providers or locations involved in processing your data.
Retention and deletion
Account data stays in the active database while the account exists, unless removed through the relevant feature. Deleting an account removes associated content and member support tickets from the active database. Guest support requests remain until the team removes them; use Contact Us and your access code to request removal. Support rate-limit records are removed after one hour on subsequent support activity. Deleting a conversation only removes your own visible copy. Copies saved by other users and deployment backups are not controlled by that action. Ask support about any retained backup copies when requesting deletion.
Your choices and requests
Edit profile data and privacy settings, remove content, block accounts or delete your account in Settings. For access, correction, export, deletion, restriction or an objection concerning personal data, send a privacy request through Contact Us. The team may need to verify ownership before disclosing or changing records. Rights and complaint routes depend on applicable law; where relevant you can contact your data-protection authority. Do not send passwords or identity documents in the initial request.
