Who can join Date&Learn?
Only adults aged 18 or over. Each person may have one account, and every email address is confirmed. Accounts of companies, agencies and marriage agencies are not allowed, so you talk to people, not to agents. If there is doubt about a member’s age, we may ask them to confirm it, and a document sent for the check is deleted as soon as the check is done.
Open section →Who can see my profile?
Members and visitors to the site see it as your privacy settings allow. It doesn’t appear in Google or other search engines unless you turn that on, and it is closed to the bots of AI assistants. The public directory shows only your card: photo, first name, age range, languages, goals and a few lines about you, never your surname or city. If you switch the card off, only an anonymous card remains, with your age range, country and languages.
Open section →Who can write to me?
You choose: all members, friends only or nobody. Photos and voice messages can be sent once the other member has written to you, you are friends or you have liked each other in Encounters, so nobody receives them unasked. You can block anyone at any time, and a blocked member can’t message you again.
Open section →Are photos checked?
Yes. New photos in profiles, albums and on walls are reviewed by a moderator before other members can see them. Photos and profile texts must not contain nudity or sexual content, your main photo must show you with your face visible, and photos of other people or celebrities are not allowed.
What happens when I report someone?
Every report is read by a person, and a person decides whether to hide content or restrict an account. Programs don’t read conversations: staff open messages only in the cases listed in the Privacy Policy, for example after a report. You learn whether we took action, and we never say who reported.
What if I disagree with a moderator’s decision?
We tell you what was decided and which rule it is based on, except for spam. If you disagree, you can ask for a review within 6 months, with the button in our message or through Contact Us, giving the decision number. A person looks at it again and tells you the result.
Open section →How do I recognise a scam?
Never send money to someone you know only from messages, whatever the story, and never share passwords, payment codes or bank details. Asking members for money, gifts, investments or cryptocurrency is against the rules. Step back if someone declares love very fast, asks for help with a ticket, a visa or a bill, talks about investments or crypto, or rushes you to another messenger in the first messages. Block the person and report the profile: that protects the next person too.
Open section →How do I meet someone safely?
Get to know each other in messages and voice messages first. Choose a public place for the first meeting, tell someone close to you where you are going, and plan your own way there and back. When you add a trip, don’t post your exact accommodation or other sensitive details. You can end a conversation at any moment, and “no” is a full answer.
What happens to my data?
We don’t sell personal data and don’t share it for advertising: the site shows no ads from advertising networks and uses no third-party trackers. You can pause or delete your account in Settings at any time. An account that nobody has signed in to for two years is deleted, after a reminder every month during the last six months.
Open section →What if I feel unsafe?
Block the member and report the profile or the message: a moderator will look at it. For anything else, write to us through Contact Us. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services: this site is not an emergency service.
